About this policy
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to potioncast.com and to Potioncast Corporation ("Potioncast," "we," or "us"), and governs our collection and use of personal information. In short: we remember what you choose to share so your characters and attractions can know you, we never sell your data, we don't use tracking cookies, and you can ask us to delete everything.
Potioncast operates AI characters you can talk with online and a portfolio of ticketed live attractions, currently Magic Eye and Séance Tonight, connected by one memory of you. The website allows you to create an account, adopt and talk with characters, provide identity inputs used to personalize your experiences, purchase tickets to live events, and view a private record of your own conversations and visits. We also host TikTok LIVE streams, covered below.
Potioncast no longer operates an SMS messaging service or a digital identity card product. Any prior version of this Policy describing those services is superseded by this document.
By using the Potioncast website or attending a Potioncast attraction, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it, or unless it is generated automatically in the course of operating the service. You may be required to provide certain information in order to use particular features.
Account information. Your email address, your display name, and your confirmation that you are 18 or older. We use email-based verification codes rather than passwords, so we do not store a password for your account.
Archetype information. Identity inputs you choose to provide, including your date, time, and place of birth, your personality type, your attachment style, and your current city, along with values we compute from those inputs such as sun sign, moon sign, rising sign, life path number, and zodiac year, and a short AI-written summary about you. Computing these values requires the geographic coordinates of your stated cities, which we derive and store alongside your inputs. Archetype information is optional. You can use your account and purchase tickets without providing it.
Characters. The characters you adopt, the names you give them, and which character is currently with you.
Conversations. Every message you send a character and every reply, stored in full, along with a title and summary for each conversation.
Character memory. Facts your characters learn about you from your conversations, stored with search data so characters can recall them. All of your characters share one character memory.
Voice. If you use voice mode, your browser asks for access to your microphone. Your browser's speech service converts your speech to text, and we receive only the text.
Ticket and purchase information. The email used to purchase, the events you purchase tickets to, the number of seats and how many are for minors, the time of purchase, the entry code issued to you, check-in, cancellation, and refund details, and group membership and invitations. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. Potioncast never receives or stores your full card number.
Visit memory. A record of your visits to Potioncast attractions, including a short summary of the reading or experience you received, and, where you tell us, who you attended with.
Where you came from. The website that referred you and any campaign tags on the link you followed, saved once when you create your account.
Communications. Records of email we send you and your newsletter subscription status.
Technical information. Pages you view and actions you take on the site, your browser and device type, screen size, and approximate location derived from your IP address. When you are signed in, this is linked to your account ID, as described under Advertising and analytics.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Create and maintain your account, and verify your identity at sign in
- Let your characters talk with you and remember you across conversations
- Personalize your experience at our attractions, as described below
- Sell you tickets, show your entry code on your tickets page, admit you to events, and process cancellations and refunds
- Send you transactional email, including verification codes and messages about tickets you hold
- Send you our newsletter, which you are enrolled in when you create an account and may unsubscribe from at any time
- Understand how people use the site so we can improve it, as described under Advertising and analytics
- Show crisis resources when a message suggests someone may be at risk, as described under AI processing
- Notify you about changes to our services or this Policy
- Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights under our Terms of Service, including for billing and collection
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights and property, and protect the safety of guests, staff, and the public
Archetype, conversations, and memory
Potioncast keeps three kinds of personal records for you, and they are governed by different rules. This distinction is central to how we handle your information.
Archetype is identity input. It is read by our characters and attractions in order to personalize your experience. You may view or edit your archetype information at any time from your account, including clearing individual answers.
Conversations and character memory. Your conversations with characters are stored in full, and your characters learn facts about you from them. All of your characters share one character memory, so a character you adopt later already knows what you have told the others. Conversations and character memory are visible only to you and are never disclosed to any other guest.
Visit memory is visit history. It is written by our attractions and is visible only to you. It is never disclosed to any other guest. A short summary of your previous visits to an attraction may be read by that same attraction on a later visit, so that a returning guest receives continuity rather than a repetition. This use is subject to your AI personalization setting for that attraction. If you disable AI personalization for an attraction, that attraction does not read your visit memory.
Information about who you attend with is recorded to your own memory for your reference only. It is never read by our attractions, never referenced during an experience, never used to personalize any reading, and never disclosed to any other guest.
You may view your conversations and memory at any time from your account. How to delete them is described under Data retention and deletion.
AI processing
Potioncast uses AI technology from third party providers to power our characters and personalize our attractions:
- Anthropic generates character replies, readings, and summaries. Your messages, archetype information, first name, and relevant memory are sent to Anthropic for processing and a response is returned to us.
- OpenAI powers our memory system, which reads your messages to pull out facts your characters remember. The memory system is open-source software (Mem0) running inside our own character service, and the facts are stored in our own database. Its own data sharing (telemetry) is turned off.
- ElevenLabs turns character replies into speech. It receives the text of character replies.
- Your browser's speech service turns your speech into text when you use voice mode, for example Google if you use Chrome.
AI training. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. OpenAI does not train on data sent through its API, Anthropic does not train on our data under its commercial terms, and we turned off training with ElevenLabs on October 3, 2026.
Your consent settings. AI personalization is applied on a per-person basis and is subject to your consent settings. You may disable AI for chat, or for any individual attraction or feature, from your account at any time. The chat setting covers all of your characters. Disabling it does not affect your ability to purchase tickets or attend events.
Safety. If a message suggests someone may be thinking about suicide or self-harm, an automated check in our character service detects it, the character responds with care, and the site shows crisis resources. We count how many times those resources are shown, without storing what was said.

Sharing information with third parties
We never sell your personal information. We do not rent or lease our customer lists.
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf and are contractually restricted to using it only to provide services to us. Each receives only what it needs.

Our fonts, scripts, and images are served from potioncast.com, so loading a page does not contact any other company.
We may disclose personal information without notice if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal process, to protect and defend our rights or property, or to act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of guests, staff, or the public. If Potioncast is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and this Policy will continue to apply to it.
Advertising and analytics
Our product analytics are provided by PostHog. PostHog does not place cookies or store anything on your device. When you are signed in, analytics events are linked to your account ID so we can understand things like whether people return. When you are not signed in, each visit is anonymous. We never send PostHog your email, your name, your characters' names, or the content of your conversations, and analytics is not used to track you across other websites.
Potioncast may advertise its attractions and characters on third party platforms, including Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. Potioncast does not currently place advertising tracking pixels or software development kits on the site, and does not share information about your activity on the site with advertising platforms. If we begin using technologies that do so, the site will present a consent notice before those technologies become active, and you may accept or decline without affecting your ability to browse, create an account, or purchase tickets.
We do not use archetype information, conversations, character memory, reading content, visit memory, or any information about who you attend with for advertising or targeting purposes, and we do not disclose that information to advertising platforms.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use tracking cookies. Potioncast itself sets no cookies at all. Stripe's checkout may set its own cookies to prevent fraud.
The site keeps a few small items in your browser's storage only where necessary to operate the service. None of them track you.

You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. If you clear the sign-in token, you will be signed out.
Email communications
Transactional email, including verification codes and messages about tickets you hold, is a necessary part of the service and is sent to all account holders.
When you create an account, you are enrolled in our newsletter and will receive occasional email about upcoming shows and announcements. This is disclosed to you at the point of account creation, before you complete it. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such message, by changing your preference in your account, or by contacting corporate@potioncast.com. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional email related to tickets you hold.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account, archetype, character, conversation, memory, and ticket information for as long as your account remains active, and you can ask us to delete all of it at any time.
Editing your archetype. You can edit or clear any individual archetype answer from your account, and we remove the cleared information from our active systems.
Deleting a conversation. Deleting a conversation removes it from your view. Its messages, and what your characters learned from it, are kept until you delete your account.
Deleting your account. Choose Delete account in your account settings, or email corporate@potioncast.com from the email address on your account. We will confirm your request and delete your account and data within 30 days, including your profile, archetype, characters, conversations, character memory, visit memory, where you came from, your analytics record, and your newsletter subscription.
What we keep. We retain transaction records for 7 years as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, regardless of account deletion. These records are separated from your account but include the email address used to purchase. Stripe retains its own payment records under its privacy policy.
Backups and logs. Deleted data leaves our backups within 30 days. Our character service keeps logs of conversations for troubleshooting, and deletes them automatically after 7 days.
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to production data is restricted, and database access is governed by row-level security policies that limit each account to its own records.
No transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While we work to protect your information, you acknowledge that there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the internet that are beyond our control, and that the security, integrity, and privacy of information exchanged through this site cannot be guaranteed.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know or access. Request details of the personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
- Right to delete. Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of at present.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. You may limit our use of sensitive personal information. In practice, you may clear any of your archetype answers at any time.
- Right to data portability. Request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
- Right against retaliation. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
These rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and under comparable laws in other states including Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Oregon. We extend the substance of these rights to all users regardless of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, contact corporate@potioncast.com. We will verify your request by confirming control of the email address associated with your account, and respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account and data by choosing Delete account in your account settings.
We may be unable to comply with a deletion request where the information is necessary to complete a transaction, detect or prevent security incidents, debug existing functionality, comply with a legal obligation, or otherwise use the information in a lawful manner compatible with the context in which you provided it.
Age requirement and minors
You must be 18 years of age or older to create a Potioncast account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through the site. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact corporate@potioncast.com and we will delete it.
Guests under 18 may physically attend Potioncast attractions where permitted by venue policy and applicable law, accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian. Attending minors do not receive personalized readings and are not addressed by our AI systems. We record only how many seats in a booking are for minors, and no other information about them.
Live attractions and TikTok LIVE
Magic Eye. If you have allowed AI for Magic Eye, it receives your first name, your archetype information, and up to three things learned from your past visits. Magic Eye speaks with you live. Your voice is processed in the moment and never stored, and you are never filmed.
Motion sensing. Certain attractions, including Séance Tonight, use a camera to sense body movement and position in order to drive the experience in real time. This processing occurs for the sole purpose of operating the attraction during your visit. It tracks movement only and does not identify who you are.
Recording at events. Potioncast, its staff, and its contractors may photograph or record at events for documentation and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in such material, notify staff on arrival and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate you. Further detail is set out in our Terms of Service.
TikTok LIVE. When you join one of our TikTok LIVE streams and comment or send a gift, we receive your public TikTok display name, your comments and gifts, and for some interactions your public bio and profile picture. Our AI character uses these in real time to respond on stream, through our AI and voice providers. We don't keep your profile details. Comments and gift activity appear in our server logs, which are deleted after 7 days. For viewers who send a gift or win a game, we keep a short note of the interaction, linked to your TikTok handle, for 14 days so the character recognizes you next time. We also keep a summary of each stream with totals and game results, which doesn't include anyone's name or handle. TikTok's own privacy policy covers how TikTok handles your data.
Data location, international users, and changes
Data location. Potioncast is based in the United States, and our service providers store and process information on servers located in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law, and you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy. We reserve the right to change this Policy from time to time, for example when there are changes to our services, our data practices, or the law. Where changes are significant, we will inform you by email. Your continued use of the site or services after modification constitutes acknowledgment of the modified Policy and agreement to be bound by it.
