This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to potioncast.com and to Potioncast Corporation ("Potioncast," "we," or "us"), and governs our collection and use of personal information.

Potioncast operates a website and a portfolio of ticketed live attractions, currently Magic Eye and Séance Tonight. The website allows you to create an account, provide identity inputs used to personalize your visits, purchase tickets to live events, and view a private record of your own visit history.

Potioncast no longer operates an SMS messaging service or a digital identity card product. Any prior version of this Policy describing those services is superseded by this document.

By using the Potioncast website or attending a Potioncast attraction, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it, or unless it is generated automatically in the course of operating the service. You may be required to provide certain information in order to use particular features.

Account information. Your email address and your display name. We use email-based verification codes rather than passwords, so we do not store a password for your account.

Archetype information. Identity inputs you choose to provide, including your date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth, along with values we compute from those inputs such as sun sign, moon sign, rising sign, life path number, and zodiac year. Computing these values requires the geographic coordinates of your stated birthplace, which we derive and store alongside your inputs. Archetype information is optional. You can use your account and purchase tickets without providing it.

Ticket and purchase information. The events you purchase tickets to, the number of seats, the time of purchase, and the entry code issued to you. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. Potioncast never receives or stores your full card number.

Memory. A record of your visits to Potioncast attractions, including a short summary of the reading or experience you received, and, where you tell us, who you attended with.

Communications. Records of email we send you and your newsletter subscription status.

Technical information. Aggregate information about visits to the site, including page paths, referring sources, approximate location at the country or region level, and browser and device type. This is collected in aggregate through our analytics provider and is not tied to your account.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

Archetype and memory

Potioncast maintains two separate categories of user data, and they are governed by different rules. This distinction is central to how we handle your information.

Archetype is identity input. It is read by our attractions in order to personalize your experience. You may view, edit, or clear your archetype information at any time from your account.

Memory is visit history. It is written by our attractions and is visible only to you. It is never disclosed to any other guest.

A short summary of your previous visits to an attraction may be read by that same attraction on a later visit, so that a returning guest receives continuity rather than a repetition. Memory is not shared between attractions. A visit recorded at one attraction is not read by another. This use of Memory is subject to your AI personalization setting for that attraction. If you disable AI personalization for an attraction, that attraction does not read your Memory.

Information about who you attend with is recorded to your own Memory for your reference only. It is never read by our attractions, never referenced during an experience, never used to personalize any reading, and never disclosed to any other guest.

You may view your Memory at any time from your account, and you may delete individual visit records or your entire Memory.

AI processing

Potioncast uses AI technology provided by Anthropic to generate personalized readings and summaries. Where this occurs, information you have provided, which may include your archetype information and prior reading summaries for the relevant attraction, is transmitted to Anthropic for processing and a response is returned to us.

AI personalization is applied on a per-person basis and is subject to your consent settings. You may disable AI personalization for any individual attraction or feature from your account at any time. Disabling it does not affect your ability to purchase tickets or attend events.

Sharing information with third parties

We never sell your personal information. We do not rent or lease our customer lists.

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf and are contractually restricted to using it only to provide services to us. These providers are:

We may disclose personal information without notice if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal process, to protect and defend our rights or property, or to act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of guests, staff, or the public.

Advertising and analytics

Our website analytics are provided by Plausible and collected in aggregate. They do not place cookies on your device, do not use a persistent identifier for you, and do not track you across other websites.

Potioncast may advertise its attractions on third party platforms, including Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok. Potioncast does not currently place advertising tracking pixels or software development kits on the site, and does not share information about your activity on the site with advertising platforms. If we begin using technologies that do so, the site will present a consent notice before those technologies become active, and you may accept or decline without affecting your ability to browse, create an account, or purchase tickets.

We do not use archetype information, reading content, memory records, or any information about who you attend with for advertising or targeting purposes, and we do not disclose that information to advertising platforms.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar browser storage only where necessary to operate the service, principally to keep you signed in to your account between visits. We do not use advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically, and most allow you to decline them. If you decline the storage we use for authentication, you will not be able to remain signed in to your account.

Email communications

Transactional email, including verification codes, ticket confirmations, and event updates, is a necessary part of the service and is sent to all account holders.

When you create an account, you are enrolled in our newsletter and will receive occasional email about upcoming shows and announcements. This is disclosed to you at the point of account creation, before you complete it. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such message, by changing your preference in your account, or by contacting corporate@potioncast.com. Unsubscribing does not stop transactional email related to tickets you hold.

Data retention

We retain account, archetype, ticket, and memory information for as long as your account remains active. If you delete specific information, such as an individual memory record or your archetype inputs, we remove it from our active systems.

We retain transaction records for as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, regardless of account deletion. Backups may persist for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten in the ordinary course.

Security

We take appropriate measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to production data is restricted, and database access is governed by row-level security policies that limit each account to its own records.

No transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. While we work to protect your information, you acknowledge that there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the internet that are beyond our control, and that the security, integrity, and privacy of information exchanged through this site cannot be guaranteed.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

These rights are provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and under comparable laws in other states including Texas, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Oregon. We extend the substance of these rights to all users regardless of residence.

To exercise any of these rights, contact corporate@potioncast.com. We will verify your request by confirming control of the email address associated with your account. You may also delete most of your information directly from your account at any time.

We may be unable to comply with a deletion request where the information is necessary to complete a transaction, detect or prevent security incidents, debug existing functionality, comply with a legal obligation, or otherwise use the information in a lawful manner compatible with the context in which you provided it.

Age requirement and minors

You must be 18 years of age or older to create a Potioncast account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through the site. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact corporate@potioncast.com and we will delete it.

Guests under 18 may physically attend Potioncast attractions where permitted by venue policy and applicable law, accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian. Attending minors do not receive personalized readings, are not addressed by our AI systems, and no personal information about them is collected or stored.

Live attractions

Motion sensing. Certain attractions, including Séance Tonight, use motion sensing to detect movement and body position in order to drive the experience in real time. This processing occurs for the sole purpose of operating the attraction during your visit.

Recording at events. Potioncast, its staff, and its contractors may photograph or record at events for documentation and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in such material, notify staff on arrival and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate you. Further detail is set out in our Terms of Service.

Data location and international users

Potioncast is based in the United States, and our service providers store and process information on servers located in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law, and you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to change this Policy from time to time, for example when there are changes to our services, our data practices, or the law. Where changes are significant, we will inform you. Your continued use of the site or services after modification constitutes acknowledgment of the modified Policy and agreement to be bound by it.
